Quiet Systems
A small shop of Notion templates for freelancers who hate admin.
Maya · Lisbon, Portugal · Product designer
The story
Maya designs products by day and kept rebuilding the same personal admin system in Notion. Friends asked for copies, so she cleaned one up and put it on Gumroad for the price of a coffee.
The lesson came fast: the sprawling all-in-one dashboards she was proud of barely sold, while a tiny 'client onboarding in one place' template kept moving. Narrow and finished beat broad and impressive.
It's a couple of hours a week now, mostly answering questions and shipping the occasional update. She's clear-eyed that templates get pirated, but the buyers who stick around do so for her, not the file.
The honest part
The catch
Templates get copied and resold constantly. The moat is trust and updates, not the file itself, you're really selling a relationship and a roadmap.
What failed first
Her first three templates were 'everything' dashboards nobody finished setting up. The ones that sold solved a single boring task end to end.
Would do differently
Build an email list from day one. The launch spikes are nice, but the steady money comes from telling existing buyers about the next thing.
